EMPLOYMENT - OPPORTUNITY RANCH

November 23, 2004 Opportunity Resources, Inc. received a working ranch in Frenchtown. The majority of the ranch and livestock was gifted to Opportunity as an endowed gift by Joyce Shepard. This was a turnkey operation and our consumers with disabilities are feeding and caring for livestock and growing vegetables. Opportunity Ranch consists of the following:

  • 131 acres of owned pasture and forest land; 28 acres of leased pasture and barnyard;
  • All of the fields and pastures are fenced and most are irrigated;
  • Buildings include: barn, lambing shed, chicken coop, mechanics garage, hay shed, and machine shed;
  • There is approximately a half mile of shoreline along the north shore of the Clark Fork River; The river area includes a small island, a beautiful river view and a small piece of land on the south shoreline;
  • A year round flowing stream passes through the ranch providing an excellent home for herons, hawks, eagles, ducks and geese;
  • Current livestock includes: sheep, beef calves, horses, a burro and Shetland pony, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, llamas, and sheep dogs;
  • In 2007 Opportunity Resources kicked of its first Old West Autumn Fest, an exciting family event open to the public. Plans are underway to make this an annual event.
