EMPLOYMENT - EZ PRODUCTS CD SKIP FIXER
WHY CDs SKIP OR MALFUNCTION
Your CDs store data on a thin, reflective layer sandwiched between the label and the clear plastic substrate that makes up the body of your CDs. When you look at the underside of your CDs, you are looking through the clear substrate to the data-storing reflective layer. To read the data your CD player sends a laser light through the substrate to reflect off the reflective layer and interpret the data. If the underside (clear, unlabeled side) of your CD is scratched or dirty, your CD player may not read the CD correctly and skipping or improper tracking may be the result.

HOW CD SKIP FIXER WORKS!
CD Skip Fixer is a polishing compound designed to actually remove a very thin layer of the plastic substrate without damaging its optical qualities. Scratches are removed or reduced so that they don’t affect the playing quality of your CDs. Any film or haze is also removed and replaced with a thin protective coating. You can use this product many times without fear or damaging your CDs as long as you only use it on the clear, unlabeled side.
REPAIRING YOUR CD
- Shake your bottle of CD Skip Fixer vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds.
- Examine the underside of your CD for scratches.
- Place your CD on a firm, flat surface with the clear side up, label side down.
- Apply CD Skip Fixer to scratches on the clear, unlabeled side of your CD only. Do not use CD Skip Fixer on the labeled side of CD.
- Using a clean, soft cloth or paper product, rub with a back and forth motion across the scratch.
- When the worst scratches are removed or reduced, reapply using short circular strokes and light pressure.
- Let dry.
- Buff to a sheen with short, circular strokes, using a clean portion of the cloth.
- To restore the playing quality of your CD, the entire scratch usually will not have to be removed.
- Test play the CD and repeat the process if necessary.
WHAT CAN’T BE REPAIRED
Scratches to the labeled side can’t be repaired. Hold your CD up to a bright light to see if light is passing through scratches on the label. If it is and it’s causing the CD to play improperly, you’re out of luck, because data has been scraped off permanently.
Indentations in the label side of the CD caused by it being hit with a blunt object can’t be repaired. The effects of deep scratches in the substrate side of the CD may not be repairable.
OTHER HELPFUL HINTS
Your CD player reads your CDs from the inside out. If there is a skip in one of the first few songs on your CD, check for scratches toward the center of the disc. If one of the last songs skips, look for scratches on the outside of the disc. If your CDs are without scratches and are clean but still skip you may have to clean the laser lens or check for other problems with the CD player.
MAY YOUR CDs PLAY PERFECTLY FOREVER!!!
